About
George Der Ghazarian is a self-taught oil painter, born in Tehran and now retired in Scarborough, Ontario.
The paintings return again and again to the natural world: open coastlines and moving water, the quiet lakes and forests of Haliburton, and the villages of Armenia — stone houses, orchards and mountains, remembered and painted in oil.
With no formal training, George has learned the craft at the easel, one canvas at a time. The work is made for the pleasure of painting and of sharing a place worth looking at.
Also written George Derghazarian.
